A New Blogging Star

So folks, chances are, you skipped immediately past my last post about geekery, so here's something completely different: A new celebrity has joined the blogging ranks, and she's using AOL Journals: Star Jones Reynolds, most famously of 'The View.'

Her new blog (which I had a very, very infinitesimally small part in helping launch) is Shine: The Official Blog:

Star Jones Reynolds

She'll be blogging through the end of March, in support of her book tour, so stop by if you're a fan -- you can say you got in on the ground floor.

[Update: 1/8: As noted in the comments, looks like the blog is private right now. I have a mail out, I will let you know what I hear back. Thanks -- Joe]

Thanks -- Joe

So how come she, along with you, and that other editor chick that started a blogg last month get to have the cool top bar below the ads with their own image that they want and we dont?

You've got to be kidding.  I went and read her first post, and she's lecturing people?

If you told me that I could eliminate the ads on the journals just by going back to that blog, I'd have one word.

Hi Joe,
I said my hellos, not very pleased with her welcoming though!  I added an entry about my comment! Very professional I was, always want to be on my best behavior at AOL!  We must prove that we know how to act!!!! Thanks for sharing, and by the way, you did a nice job with her banner!  Care to hook a chica up? lol

Your promo piqued my curiosity so I visited the "Shine" site, read the "entry" and comments.   I come away impressed by the phoniness of the entire blog (I can't imagine that Star Jones herself set one well-manicured nail to keyboard--read the About Me entry written in the third person) and the warm if naive welcome to JLand from those who failed to note Editor Joe's statement that she will be "blogging" only through the end of March and the end of her book tour.

I see she has gone private now so I guess we don't impress her.

Hey joe, I just wanted to tell you that when I installed AOL Security Edition SE, I was able to see the pictures on the face wall, maybe this may help everyone else who was having the same issue.

Charles

P.S.  Everyone out there looks great!

Hi Joe.  Can you tell us why this has already gone private?  I commented, and am now "out"...notice saying it's gone private...  My comment wasn't rude or derogatory. ;)  C.  http://journals.aol.com/gdireneoe/thedailies

I was ok with the journal ads...But this I won't stand for !!  Star Jones ?  Couldn't AOL muster up someone who isn't a complete pompus ass ?  Was Gary Coleman busy ?

This one flamed out fast. The Star Jones Journal is now missing.
