Having Journals Problems? Please Let Us Know

Hi folks -- I've gotten a few reports of people getting the "Journals
Not Available" blue screen -- I'm not sure at this point whether it's
limited to Private Journals or not, so your information can help our
tech folks figure out what kind of problem it is.

As always, if you're experiencing problems

with your AOL Journal or AIM Blog, please let me know by sending an

e-mail to journalseditor@aol.com

Please include as much detail as you can -- what you were doing when
you had the problem; the address of the Journal; whether it was a
public or private Journal; and what Web browser or version of AOL
you're using.

I know a lot of folks still don't know about this blog, so I would
appreciate it if you can let them know they can come here if they have
problems (blog problems, that is).

Thanks -- Joe

The blue screen comes up when we're leaving comments, trying to open journals, trying to open archives, you name it.   Has been for about four days now.

yes Joe.... double comments this am... the blue screen.... and very slow. I finally rebooted and it did not help. It is not just limited to private journals. I finally quit visiting journals this am because it was just too painful.

Hope you're having a great day.......... I have some other problems, but I won't share them here:):):) judi

Hrm, the Alerts template change was a bit of a surprise to me, as well. I had heard some talk about a new template rolling out, but hadn't heard of the Journals alerts changeover (or maybe I heard and forgot). -- Joe

Oh Joe, forgot to tell you.  A bunch of us aren't getting comment alerts either.  Haven't been for over 1 month now.  We have to go in and "refresh" our journals in order to see who commented.  They come through only sometimes and here and there.
Hugs,
Lisa
P.S.:  The new "Comment Alerts" are pretty cool!  Screwed me up though when I just got one, I didn't know where to look on the white email that comes through now.  :)

NO. Joe. It's not limited to private journals. Mine are public and I'm not receiving all my comment alerts. That's been going on for some time now. I also have the newest version of AOL. It happens on both journals.
Thanks,

Comment alert non-delivery (affecting both public and private journals) we know about -- we're also checking to see if inability to post comments (and the blue "not available" screen) is a private Journals thing or not. Thanks. -- Joe

I haven't had that problem when making a comment to a private journal, Joe, but I have had trouble adding entries to my private journal.
Peace and love,

Dear Joe,
High Fives Buddy!!! Whazzz Up?:):)
hey you scored big time points with Lisa, who is a very nice mom and friend, by offereing to help her!((((Joe))))))
So Best Reguards to you personally.
The journal section would not give me a break today..for example. Lisa's journal came up for me to read but when I hit comments it just showed a blank page..I ahd that happened with Sugar's(nicoles) as well and also Marina's ..so I'm thinking that maye it's private journals?..I noticed that it would not let me comment on Princess Aurora's journal or John's until I finally shut ti downa dn came backk..I think that this makes people very discouraged Joe and then sometimes they jsut leave Jland for acouple of days..forgoing theri comments whichare so hard to leave!
Hey You're the Man though, you're agreat stand up guy sweetie
hugs, natalie

I have either ticked off every private journaler, or something is terribly wrong somewhere...  The blue screen of unavailability has been replaced by the blue screen of Access REJECTION.  I like the other one better.

I've had trouble commenting on private Journals. I was able to comment but I hit the "Journals Not Available"" a few times.

Comment alerts. Some are getting dropped. Most are getting through.

Hi, Joe:
No Expressions are appearing in any journal profiles. Suddenly, all screen names are unable to view anyone's Buddy icons, wallpaper, or sounds in journal profiles. Can't even see my own Expressions in profiles, although they do appear properly in my Expressions section.  They've always worked before. Didn't realize how much these Expressions enhance journals and comments until they all disappeared at once!

I have AOL 9 SE on Windows XP.  Please advise; no, strike that, please rescue!  My AOL journals experience is much impaired by my inability to view the icons that represent journalists and commentators as they each wish to be perceived.

P. S.  Have recently noticed a number of comments from others whose Expressions have also disappeared.  Can you please shed light on this mystery?  Thank you.

In addition to sometimes not being able to leave a comment, often I can't read the comments others have left.  Click "Show recent" and nothing happens--no response whatsoever.

Add my big thumbs down to the new entry alert format.  Type so small it's like trying to read the telephone book without your glasses.  And you not only have to scroll down to see which journal has a new entry (and try to hit the link on the move while the text readjusts itself) you have to scroll sideways to be able to read the content of the alert (and sometimes the content of the journal).  Phooey!

And on one or two of the alerts I've gotten,  AOL has used that "empty" space that is first presented on an entry alert for advertising.  Double phooey!

Dear AOL:  Your paying customers are not Beta testers.  Get it right BEFORE putting it out there.  (If I knew where to send that message where it would be read, I would do it.  But they seem to be unreachable.)

I don't get all the comment alerts I should. I get two alerts per comment from some and none from other peoples comments on my journal. Also the new comment alerts are printed so small they're hard to read for us old folk!! Can't we have them slightly larger please?! Jeannette.
