Hi folks...I was talking with one of the Alerts folks about the font size problem in the new Alerts templates.
He thinks that the smaller font is being caused by some CSS and font tags conflicts somewhere between the Alerts template, and the Journals information that is being fed into that template.
The previous body text in the comment and entry Alerts looked to be Arial 10 point font. The new style looks about Arial 8 point, which I agree is too small.
I will let you know when they think they can get a fix in.
Thanks. -- Joe

well it's good to know they're working on it - a person could go blind trying to read those things!
O thank goodness, I sometimes read the alert templates because in some journals the font is too small for my poor eyes. I figured I was screwed! Margo

Yes, the new fonts were noticeably smaller and I'm only in my 40's. You know how we like change, but when it happens we complain about it. LOL. Yeah 8 is a bit small.
As far as change...it would be nice to have additional fonts in journals.
I too am not getting all of my comment alerts.
The first two comments left on my journal at this entry #902 did not send me alerts:

One comment is from someone who has an AOL screen name but not a full AOL account - you will see their names on this entry link above.... (kjkwiggins) and the other one was (barbpinion). Neither gave me an alert. And that was yesterday (Wednesday).
Thanks for your blog and all the info. It's really nice to know what's going on. When I see others having trouble, I refer them to your site.

Thanks Joe for letting us know. So glad that they are going to do something about it because I simply cannot cope with them. Hope they can fix it soon.

Thanks friend. It's nice to know we have you helping us.
And I thought I needed new glasses!!! And that would have sucked!!! Thanks for the heads up.
I would not only like the font to be larger, but also have a choice of which font to use and be able to personalize my style of writing with more flair. Do you think that would be possible? I hope so.
Thanks,
Pepper
Let this be about content, not appearance. The font need only be legible and readable to the masses. Blogs are about content.
Aren't they?
why has this not been fixed yet it is driving me mad, I cannot read or see anything
