what a great personal touch to let us know JLand is shutting down. Put a freakin banner up on our journals then supply no info! I'm a little disgusted with the way this was rolled out to say the least...... A member for years, participating in JLand and trying to help it grow and I get Banner ad with the announcement you are closing shop????????? Great touch AOL.. fits right in with the MO, screw everyone.

Is it true that AOL Journals are shutting down?

I have read that on October 31st 2008 AOL Hometown and AOL Journals is closing. Shouldn't that be blogged about by the AOL Journals Community Bloggers employed by AOL?
...I think 80% of the community is still in the dark on this issue. Just a thought!
After just celebrating four years of journaling here I am devasted to learn that we are losing journals. Why, for what good reason? Money? I remember AOL turning money away, making everything free...did it turn out that it was a stupid move? Duh. We have made friends all over the world...it is not fair, not right and AOL should be ashamed of itself. This is a great way to go out of business...a po'd Sandi
