Guest Editor Picks - 8/1

What a lovely honor to be selected as your Guest Editor!  Thank you!

For those that may not know me or
have come across my journal, my name is Lynne.  I am 45, and was born a
middle child or close to it, I'm four of five.  I know it is not
coincidence because I seem to find myself in the middle on a lot of
things.  I'm not runway-model beautiful, but I'm not ugly either.  I'm
not a rocket scientist, but I'm not a chucklehead either.  I could be a
whole lot bigger, but I certainly could stand to be smaller.  I will
never be paid to sing, but I'm not totally tone deaf.   Get the drift,
lol.  Just somewhere inbetween a lot of things.  I've been married
twice, and still married to my second husband.  We have a blended
family of six.  His four live in IL, and my two live in Maryland.  I'm
a twin.  Identifical.  I work hard, love harder and am trying to finish
out my degree program in business.  I project I will have my Bachelor's
within two to three years.  I write about family most of the time, and
it took some growing pains in this journal world to realize some things
are not meant for public eye.  But I understand it now, when others do
it.  You get so wrapped around an event in your life, that is all you
see.  The pain, the loss, the growth and hopefully healing.

I can't say I am a list person,
but I did write one once.  One of the things I said I wanted to do was
see my name in print as being an author to a book.  Would it be a best
seller?  Well that would be nice, but it is not my priority.  So
perhaps this is a spring board to practicing the art of writing.  Or
maybe it is even simipler, a place to vent about the joys and trials of
my life.  One thing is certain, whatever happens to float from my mind
and land on a page takes time and thought, so I named my journal
TNT .

Like most that are bestowed this
honor, it is difficult to comeup with a set of writers to high light,
because I enjoy them all.  I enjoy people.  I love watching people in
action.  I sit and wonder where life has brought them from and where
they are going.  When I read the journals posted, it gives me a post
card view of a person and I feel like I've received a gift.  They've
blessed me with their time and devotion in order to share a bit of
themselves.

I have to thank Sugar, of Sugar Shack Keepsakes for
inviting me to journal land for a read of her journal.  It has opened
me to so many other journals and blessings, too.  She has a basket full
and then some of knowledge where graphics are concerned.  I just wish I
had the time to take advantage of her tips.  Someday.

My newest addition to my favorite journals is Dad of Dad's Tomato Garden Journal   © 2008 .
He was born in 1913 and writes about his love of gardening and leaves a
feel good comment that makes you "SMILE".  He reminds me of my
grandfather and I think if the two of those gentlemen had they ever met
in real life....would have been friends.

For health and day-to-day comparisons, I go to Sherry of Sherry's weightloss journey, Joann of  Joann's Weight Loss Journey, and Sonya of  MySouthernHome
The ladies impart wisdom of the day-to-day and are inspirational to me
in my quest for improved health, and pursuit of education.  They keep
busy, yet find time to find the joy in life - and are in a word
encouraging to me.

When I want a giggle, I go read Marty's journal, Heard at Starbucks or Cathy's at That's What I'm Thinking .
Marty was very gracious when I thought he was from Montana and he
patiently explained that "7th and Montana" was actually in California.
Who knew I was so geographically challenged??  Cathy always makes me
giggle when I read her entries about the "mullet sightings".  She even
has me taking notes on such sightings, LOL.

Lyn of Brits blog is
a military wife.  She is like a full can of pepsi and I enjoy reading
her journal.  I know she has it tough while the husband is deployed,
but she is made of some strong stuff and is doing a great job. I can't
help but smile at times when I read her raw writing style.  She says it
like it is and means what she says.  I like that about her.

Last, is an individual that has
been a confidante during a time when I needed a friend.  She never
judged.  She listened, or read my emails and offered her support and
prayers.  It has paid off is all I will say.  I enjoy reading her
journal about Bubba and Hannah bug, life in Texas.  Barbara of Life & Faith in Caneyhead .

There are many more, of course
but I best stop and leave room for the next guest editor to share their
guest picks.  Again, thank you for such an honor.

And here I was just telling Jeannette that I hadn't had any alert problems!  LOL  It seems I had not gotten any comment alerts this weekend, and since I haven't posted this weekend, I didn't find that strange or go look.  That's some mighty sweet things you said about me.  Makes me want to blush.  And I enjoyed learning a little more about you Lynne!  -  Barbara
