Please Help Us Fix R8

You may have noticed a lot of the problems from the past few days have magically vanished from your Journal experience. That's because the Journals tech team has rolled the R8 code back until we can figure out what all the 'undocumented features' of R8 were, exactly, and how we can fix them.

As always, Stephanie Bergman has more on this in detail. If you are at all interested in helping us fix the Journals product, please visit her post and follow her instructions -- doing this will be a HUGE help.

Essentially, what we're asking you to do is go about your normal blogging business, but do it in the beta version of journals. All you have to do is add "beta" in front of your URL. For example, my journal is http://journals.aol.com/journalseditor/magicsmoke and my beta URL would be http://beta.journals.aol.com/journalseditor/magicsmoke.

Stephanie explains more about what to look for, and steps to fix problems. We really need your help here, and appreciate all you can give us.

And again, thanks so much to all of you who reported problems to us and are willing to help us fix things. Every piece of information you give us makes our product better -- and therefore improves your blogging lives!

Hi Jeff,
I'm on AOL Canada, so my blogging experience has been a little bit different from the majority of AOL journals users. However, I do maintain a private test journal on the AOL US journaling platform so I can take advantage of things like spell check, which AOL Canada blogs have not yet received. As well, it lets me play with new Beta toys that I otherwise couldn't right away.
My experience over the last week or so has been completely unimpacted by the problems being described by everyone else. Both on my aol.ca blogs, and on my aol.com test journal. I have not seen any of the authentication problems at all. No idea if that is of any value to you or not, but there it is.

When Canada starts spelling like normal people, then Canada will get spell-check.   Stop your liberal use of the letter "u," and embrace the letter "z."

Oh..  And give us your socialised medicine, eh?

Cornwall shouldn't have any troubles, but Cardiff, on the other hand, well...  Let's just say I am glad I'm not in Cardiff today.

I was in beta putting up some fun polls for my blog, and everything worked fine but wanted to throw and idea out. When your doing the polls and filling out the poll data, when you get the poll URL it doesnt let you just copy and paste the URL. You have to right click and all you get is select all...well then you have all the programming "stuff"(not sure how to say it,lol.) instead of just getting the URL for the poll.

I'm not sure if that has always been true or if its my computer but it would be easier if we could copy the url on that dark blue popup window and get just the url.

I don't know much about beta (have a heck of the time with the AIM pages though)  Does this mean folks need to reset their alerts for our journals?
