Katrina: Messages of Hope

Hi folks -- apologies for not getting more updates in here this week;
I've been working on getting the fruits of Scalzi's previous Weekend
Assignment
up in a standalone, ongoing photoblog, which you can now find here --
Katrina: Messages of Hope:

Katrina: Messages of Hope

We're
trying to get the word out, not just to AOL and AIM bloggers, but
anyone out there who wants to participate; you don't even have to have
a blog.

Just take a picture with a note of support (after donating to disaster relief if you're able, of course), then send the picture to us so you can be added to the ever-growing list.

Many thanks to John for coming up with the idea; to Jason for doing the
great header art, and to all of you who've participated so far. Please spread the word, and keep those photos coming.

Thanks. -- Joe

Joe I've added an entry to my blog. A friend of mine lost his son in law during the storm.

im a 21 year old black female in Waco, I just would like to say Bush is full of shit he can blow up Iraq then turn around two hours later and feed them and he  could not feed are americans that people are calling  refugees? When they are americans and they are from the U.S. thats stupid something white ass Bush started. Why does every one one want to get mad know that they are giving jobs and making jobs dont get mad thats crazy. I never thought in a million years that America would turn its back on it's on Americans. I know this is besides the point but every one needs to get out and vote in 2007 and get Bush out, not to be racial but you see how he treated are people by taking so long to get out and help do something if it would have been his girls it would have been a different story are rich people.
VOTE, VOTE, VOTE, VOTE, VOTE

MAY GOD BLESS EVERY ONE, PRAYER CHANGES THINGS

I would only like to make a comment to all those who are filled with so much of what seems like anger and bitterness. Hurricane Katrina was a natural disaster. All the planning or warnings in the world could never have prepared anyone for what just happened. Blaming the PRESIDENT, the VICTIMS or anyone else will never bring back those who passed on, or take away the pain and suffering of those who lived. There are so many victims involved, I really don't think it's fair to say they SHOULD'VE or COULD'VE, and THEY DIDN'T.  I don't believe any person could even try to imagine the pain and sorrow of a single human being who endured this catastrophe. It saddens me to read some of these entries and realize how so many, have such little faith, no mercy for the less fortunate. It's a perfect example of just how corrupt this world has become. This is a subject that can, and will be ongoing..... never ending, so I am going to stop myself here.  GOD BLESS....My thoughts and prayers are with those in need. My heart goes out to you.
