Long term illness

It seems to me
that quite a few J-landers suffer from fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis
and other diseases that are as long-term as they are debilitating.
Would it be an idea to tie all of you together, in order to make true
that old chestnut "a burden shared is a burden lessened"? Could go in the shape of a shared journal. Leave a comment if you have any constructive ideas on this.

I think that's an awesome idea.  I don't have either of these diseases, but if you would like me to spread the word about a joint journal, let me know.  I'd be happy to post about it in my journal.

When people experience unrelenting pain, everyone they live with and love is likely to suffer. The frustration, anxiety, stress and depression that often go with chronic pain can also afflict family members and friends who feel helpless to provide relief.

Such a great idea to unite these individual together for a "Support Team".  They can have their own group to talk to and exchange what works best for them and in turn help others.

I, personally belong to a Widow's Group and it is helped me a great deal.

This is a wonderful idea!  Fibromyalgia is a type of arthritis.  There are over 100 types and I have 4 including fibro.  Since my diagnosis of fibro, CFS, & Mono in February, I've been unable to read the many journals I sub to.  Alot of them suffer with chronic diseases/conditions.  I think a shared journal would be a great way to support others in J-Land and meet new people.  My link below explains what I am doing in memory of my Mom & Grandma and in honor of those who suffer including myself.

Although I do not suffer from any of the mentioned ailments, what a lovely idea to connect those that understand.  Great idea.

Guido, Tammy has two journals...
http://journals.aol.com/memes121/AsIAm
http://journals.aol.com/memes121/friends-helping-friends/
Both of these are places to go for those who have disabilities and need support.  Wanted to let you know!  Tammy just had surgery on her spine, so she isn't posting alot, but is usually extremely active in all of her journals.  Hugs, Val
