Hi folks -- sorry, been kind of a slack posting week for me (both here an in the Social Media Blog) -- I'll do better next week. Some of the things I'll try to get to include:
* An update on the Journals Product Manager front
* That entry I've been talking about on commenting and blogging for people without AOL or AIM Screen Names
* A recap on how to use tags and some things you can do with them.
Speaking of tags, here's another round of blogplugs, which are entries that bloggers have sent to me or labeled blogplugs so that other people will see them. To see everything that people have tagged, click the blogplugs tag:
* Barbara blogplugs one of Jackie's entries about missing chicken.
* Christopher posted an entry blogplugging Steve, a new Journaler blogging over at (stay with me now) Stu's Place
* Dawn has a meme idea involving first initials
* Guido tells the story of a shoplifting seagull
* Paul has some questions people ask atheists.
* Sugar has a few more entries about the Michael Vick dogfighting allegations.
Thanks -- Joe

Well, Joe I'm sorta wondering why the AOL News blog ended? Thier are
many that were on this blog/journal. They would like to know why they do not have a place to go to debate.
"SECURE THE BORDER"
"Vote For Chuck U. Farley"
"Build The Wall"
I'm with stargazer. I've been wondering about that myself.

Hi -- as I recall, the Daily Pulse blog was discontinued because the feature it supported (The Daily Pulse) was also discontinued. Right now, AOL News has:
* The Cooler Blog: http://news.aol.com/the-cooler-blog
* News Bloggers: http://newsbloggers.aol.com/
Plus, you can comment on every (that's EVERY) article at http://news.aol.com
This, in addition to the News Message Boards: http://messageboards.aol.com/aol/en_us/boards.php?boardId=367509&func=2&channel=News
Thanks -- Joe
TY for the mention Joe, just did an update on that entry too, happy to report Nike has suspended their contract with Vick!
Now I need to visit a few other of the journals you mentioned.
Have a good wkend.

I was wondering Joe if you might know Why? the Daily Pulse
Citizen Journals Polictical Blog was taken away by AOL????
Alot, of bloggers miss it, and would like it back? Alot of people
I know sent E-Mails to AOL and they stated they will look into
it but nothing has happened. Could you look into it? If not that's ok just thought it would be worth a try asking.
Thanks
Joe I post asking about the "Daily Pulse Journals Blog" and You
had answered someone on this already. The Daily Pulse News
is not gone, I have posted on just news articles. So that is not
correct Daily Pulse was not discontinued as far as I can see.
Can't AOL give us another Blog with topics for Politics??
Posting on little news stories is not the same and frankly
it stinks, alot out here in AOL land feel this way. I could give
you a ton of screen names that are very disappointed in AOL
for not offering something else if they had to do away with
Daily Pulse Citizen Journals Political Blog. I see Daily Pulse
news still so you did not discontinue that. Can you tell higher
ups at AOL we all want a news blog just like Daily Pulse was
it is easier to blog on and it had become a little community.
I would appreciate if you have any input to let AOL know
how many people feel about this. Thanks
Cool! Thanks for the shout out!!!
be well,
Dawn

Hey Joe, did you ever post an entry on how to respond to comments so when they are emailed to the recipient, they can see the image of their posted comments? I always wanted to know how to do that and of course, never figured it out, lol.
Thanks Joe. ~Raven
Holy crap! That entry listing questions the religious commonly ask atheists spawned three subsequent entries, and there are, at last count, over 112 comments spread across the four posts. Talk about your hot button topic.

Yenttia001: I think you're not quite getting the AOL News branding. AOL News is name of the overall area (at news.aol.com) -- the Daily Pulse was a feature that used to be on the AOL News main page, and the Daily Pulse blog supported it (they took feedback, had polls, etc).
When AOL News stopped doing the Daily Pulse feature, they discontinued the Daily Pulse blog.
My previous comment listed out the other AOL News blogs, plus the boards are still there; I'm sure the AOL News folks will be continuing to try different blogs, community features, etc., and I will also pass along your feedback.
Thanks -- Joe
Raven: I'm not sure what an image of the posted comment would be particularly useful. When I reply to a comment by replying to the e-mail comment alert (and pasting in the e-mail address of the commenter), I make sure to quote the comment so the person can see what I'm replying to.
Thanks -- Joe (posted & mailed)
