The AOL and Virginia state flags on the AOL campus flying at half-staff to commemorate the victims of the Virginia Tech shootings.
I was trying to figure out how to capture the wind (I'd been thinking video), when two things occurred: Blogger John's Monday Photo Shoot on Windy Days, and the shootings at Virginia Tech, which caused the flags to be flying at half-staff today.
So an unfortunate, yet fitting, confluence of events.
Thanks -- Joe

Here in Michigan we had a tragedy too. In the town that I live in, we had a 5 year old girl die at school after being hit int he head by a flag pole that failed. So, please, if there are flag poles around, make sure that they are in good condition. This one was not and this 5 year old girl that I knew, did not have to die. Tawnya
Christopher -- the President issued an Executive Order today ordering the U.S. flag to be flown at half-staff on gov't and public buildings ( http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/04/20070417.html ), so I expect all 3 flags will be flying at half-staff tomorrow. Thanks -- Joe
Tawnya -- sorry to hear about the little girl's sad story. -- Joe
Perfect choice...

I enjoy when 32 murders works out nicely for my blog, too.
Joe,
I raise and lower the US flag daily at our local school house. The offical location for determining the half-staff position of the US flag is :http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/proclamations/
Great photo of capturing the wind.
