Monday Stuff

Hi folks...no big updates at the moment.
For me,

Monday is largely a day to catch up on all the stuff that happened
over

the weekend, and to reset for the upcoming
week.

Because I have

to keep abreast of stuff going on in the world and the blog space, I

tend to read a lot of technology sites and blogs (as well as the usual

current events and weird news sites). I won't give you a full download

of my routine, but I thought I would share a few of my usual Monday

sites:

Also, today found me at a couple of sites that I
check out periodicially:

Lifehacker.com

Tradetricks.org

Both

of these sites are dedicated to tips, tricks and shortcuts -- ways to

get things done.  Specifically, I was looking to see if anyone
had

anything on how to retie a tassel -- as you can see in the photo
below,

the tassel on my loafer keeps coming undone -- I haven't figured out

how to fix it:

My Loafter

If you have any ideas (hot
glue? straight pin?), please post a comment.

I
should have some more blog-specific stuff later in the week. -- Joe

Eastland used to have directions for tying thier laces...maybe they would have it ??????

As cool as they look, Joe, I recommend tossing the shoes and getting a new pair!  The tassel is cursed and will never tie properly anyway.

Betty's got a good idea - wet them.  That will allow you to tie them tighter.  But, they also need a little stiffening.  When you wet them, work a LITTLE of that yellow woodshop glue in.  It's sort of like putting mousse in your hair.  When they dry, they'll be tight, and stiffer.  The loops won't want to pull through.

New shoes? Never. They're very comfortable.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will give them a shot.

Try wetting the knot after you tie it. As it dries it should cause the leather to tighten up. Or you can try double knotting it, I used to do that years ago when "boat shoes" were the rage. (I mean YEARS AGO.) ;-) ---Robbie
