I am encouraging everybody to read my response to Marie regarding whether The Blessed Sacrament is a Him or an "It".  I responded in her comments section (comment 1 and comment 2).  I of course go by Catholic Church teaching which says that the Blessed Sacrament is truly Jesus, absolutely making The Blessed Sacrament "Him".  Marie poses two other questions, and I posted in her comments section about those also.  I backed up what I wrote with Scripture (the Bible), Catholic Church dogma, fathers of the church, history, etc.  I left websites so that others could have something to go away with and study.  I thought this was appropriate for Eastertime.

Thanks!  Krissy :)

I thought I would answer Paul (plittle).  According to Merriam Webster, cannibalism is:  the eating of human flesh by a human being.

We all know what cannibalism is!  We have a very graphic picture of it in our imagination, if we try!

When a priest does the consecration (this is called transubstantiation) and changes the bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Jesus, the "accidents" remain bread and wine.  What this means is, The Blessed Sacrament still looks and tastes like bread and wine.  Hence, you are not gnawing on flesh, in the sense that you are not ripping off anybody's flesh and eating it, nor do you taste flesh, nor can you injure the Lord as you chew The Blessed Sacrament, as He is in the form of bread and wine.  However, the SUBSTANCE of the bread and wine are changed into the Body and Blood of the Lord, so you are truly receiving Him.

This can hardly be called cannibalism.  It can't be called cannibalism at all!  And one more point.  We are talking about the Risen Lord.  The Lord of the Eucharist is the Risen Lord.

He allows us to receive Him in this manner so that we may receive grace to better follow Him, so that we may live with Him forever in Heaven.  And to lead others to Him, thus loving the world through Him.  This is His plan.  He wills all men be saved, if they only turn to Him, and follow Him.  What a great Easter message!

Just wondering wondering why with ALL the other GREAT blogs out there , WHY you always pick the same OLD ones???? Most people have these on alerts already.... Why not find NEW ones to blog spot??

It actually does say in vishy's post every week to put blogplugs in the tag line,.
As for doing more with Magic Smoke, why not go back to the old format, that's how I found blogs in the first place, the "People Connection" page could do with an update. If you are asked to be  the "Guest Editor" surely you can choose whom ever you want as your picks, again all you have to do is drop the Journals Editor a line should you want to be a Guest Editor, then a more diverse selection of blogs can be highlighted.

Dan et al,
We are trying to root out these spam journals as we speak. Hopefully, we can roll out a deterrent by the end of the week that will plug this hole. One has to realize the battle with these spammers is a never ending one and we try to do our best. In the meanwhile, if you come across journals like this, please let us know.
Thanks,

Vish
