Weekend Blogplugs - 6/8/08

Hi folks,

A weekend post this week again. Maybe I
should make it a permanent change (blogplugs on the weekend, I mean).
We have a lot of 'plugs to get to, let's go get
'em.

* Celeste
cites a hit and run story to lament
about the decline in people's compassion towards fellow
beings.

* Sherry
narrates
the story of a lady who died but the credit card company still came
after her.

* Looks like Paul
has found his mission in life and he is enjoying taking us
back in time with the golden oldies. He writes about
Huey
Lewis & The News
, Bob
Dylan
and Simon
and Garfunkel
. I for one enjoy his posts a lot!
His
request line is always open, so if you have a favorite from the 40's,
50's, 60's, 70's or 80's just leave a comment or E-mail him with your
request.

* Indigo
compares her journal writing to the "mad
scribblings
" of her daughter when she was young. She reproduces
Jim's essay for the Artsy Essay contest. And Jim
won the essay contest. Congratulations!

* Mary requests
us
to support Jimmy (our guest editor this past week) who got
some bad news about a close family member's health. She recalls how
Jimmy was there in person to offer support when her dad passed away.
Who said online friendships are not
real?

* Ken gives
us details
of his Florida vacation
that includes with an encounter with
a
dolphin:)

* Elayne
prescribes
laughter as the best medicine:). Her back
is getting better
and she was able to do some household
chores.

* Bill's
comic characters (Wildcat, Frank), newest
adventure
.

* Jimmy has
his usual enjoyable pot
pourri
on a Friday. He voices
his opinions
about a plan in San Francisco to reduce/end
panhandling.

* Marie shows
off some
pictures
using some new filters that she
bought.

* Donna takes
some unusual
pictures
of her daughter. She gets some beautiful shots
of Jay
(it's a bird). Then they had a party and then the
rain
came
.

* Sugar is
offering signature
tags
for people who are
graduating.

* Krissy's
blog is 4
years old
. Congratulations! She thanks her friendsfor all the
memories.

* Dan gets
stuck
in a Dollar store because the guy outside the store has
a gun. This has a happy but tame ending
though:)

* Connie has
put up pictures
from her yard. Some more pics here.
She tells a story
about hot chocolate
as it relates to
life.

* Betty got
her husband a GPS
system
for his 55th birthday and needless to say he was
excited. They found
a church
that they
like.

* Tawyna is
trying to raise funds to fulfill
a soldier's request
to get her husband a bicycle. Her Wednesday
Hero
is Petty Officer 2nd Class Adam F.
Kenney.

* Marie is
trying to understand the symbolism behind the statues
of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
. She urges us to live
our
faith
.

* Christopher
has a product improvement suggestion. He is in favor of a
journal with private and public entries as opposed to an entirely
public or private journal that we have today. He wants Journals to
allow embed code from other video sites (other than
youtube and aol).
Editors note: Ask and
you shall receive. I have added viddler.com to the allowed list. You
can send us requests for sites to be on the allowed list and we will
consider them favorably most of the time.
I am going to post an updated allowed list of websites and I will provide a link on the right side bar.

A couple of other
journals to peruse...

* If you are into Crochet
you should check out Dee's
journal.

* Elie
has a journal
where he discusses the politics and religion of the Middle East. He is
an expert in the region and has written a book called the
"Islamic
Shield".

Contests &
Trivia!

* Weekly
sentence with Val.
This week's letters are
TNADTM
.

Lights,
Camera
and
Action!

*Krissy's
JLand Photo Shoot entries
for the subject "Water".

*
Marie's
AOL
Community Photo Challenge, entries for the subject
"Magic Hour", judged
and fun.

Thanks
again for the blogplugs
this week.
Don't forget to tag your best en
tries with
"blogplugs".
If you want to be a Guest Editor or have some
interesting (or useful) blogplugs, send your submissions to
JournalsEditor@aol.com and we'll review
them.

Your suggestion to actually have weekend "blogplugs" rocks...The way if an individual has a note worthy addition such as Christopher or others we can catch up throughout the week. During our downtime (when ever that is) LOL

As Always

Peace

TY for the mention.  :)
Putting my 2 cents re private & public journals, I want mine left as is. So, maybe we could choose if we want the individual entry as was suggested...but people (like me) who want their journals ALL private or ALL public can be left as is.
TY,
