Hot Off The Stupidsheet

Hi Folks, it's my
turn to have been selected for the honor of being the Guest Editor for
the Week
. While I'm very pleased to have been selected, I realized it
was a pretty daunting task, because there are so many Journals that I
love here.

Allow me, first to
introduce myself. My name is Jimmy, and I write my own Journal over at
Stupid
Too.
 I've been with J-Land since 2005 and I've made a
lot of great friends through the years here.

I chose, for my
"theme" to introduce a few journals that have different qualities, a
"Little Bit Of Each", so to speak. There's no one category of Journals
that I read, so I thought I would share this mix with
you.

Some of my favorites
are:

Nancy is a long-time friend. She has a
tremendously talented eye for photography, and shares that talent on a
regular basis. Her Journal fits my "Artsy" category. She makes
photography fun, with a lot of imagination. She slips in a few fun
guessing games now and then as well, taking sneaky pictures and asking
us to figure out what it is that we're seeing. It's a fun
Journal...check it out.

For more slice of life, this time from
across the Pond, we have the lovely Ms. Ally. She is a long-time friend
also, and someone who is always ready with a kind word and powerful
support. Thiswoman's gentle, happy and peaceful nature come across
loud and clear in the prose she regularly pens for us. If you want to
find a Journal that's fun and relaxing to read, then visit Ms. Ally
regularly. You won't be sorry. This fits my "Feels Like Home"
category.

Ah, Mary. My good friend and source of
infinite wisdom. This Lady is someone who tells it like it is,
but with honesty as opposed to abrasiveness. She is someone who has
lived through a lot of experiences, both happy and sad, and has
garnered a lot of wisdome that she imparts regularly. This fits my
"Words of Wisdom" category,
obviously.

This lady posts some great photographs
of her travels, and she not only has a great eye for photography, she
has a great writing style with which she describes her journeys. It's
always fun to see tourist destinations, but with the Lady as our guide,
it's a great experience beyond the photos. This journal fits my "Feels
Like I Was There" category.

This Lady writes a down-home journal,
full of life experiences that she handles with a lot of grace, charm
and wit. She's someone who I'd want to be in the foxhole with because
when she's on your side, you have a great, powerful ally. She describes
her Journal this way: "Join me daily to read about my journey with my
daughter who is recovering from Anorexia and my son who suffers from
Arnold Chiari Brain
Malformation."

With all that going on, she still
manages to live a happy life because she loves her family and
understands the idea that anything worth having is worth working for.
This Journal fits my "I Got Your Back"
category.

I love this Journal. This one contains
some of the most visual, creative yet relevant writing I have ever
encountered. Indigo, as she is so fondly known, has not had an easy
life, yet somehow she maintains an incredibly optimistic outlook, and a
faith in humankind that is nothing short of remarkable. The only
problem I find here is that sometimes I get so engrossed in the
writing, I forget to comment at the end. This fits my "Words Beyond
Words" category.

My Pal Marty here gives us an almost
daily peek at the goings-on from his local Starbucks. Marty has a way
of taking things that we all see regularly, and generating some funny,
laugh-out-loud anecdotes. His style makes the Journal a fun read, quick
and to the point. This is a destination you really should visit.
Marty's fits my "Hide In Plain Sight" category because he sees things
we all might overlook. Have fun and tell him Jimmy sent
ya.

Allison is a friend who has made a
regular habit of cheering me up, clearing my vision and setting me
straight. Her Journal is a nice fun place to visit, for sure, but it's
also a source of some wide-eyed optimism, a dose of which I believe
we'd all benefit from. She has a way of seeing the good in anyone and
everyone. She also makes everything she does sound like so much fun.
It's nice to know someone like Allison is alive because she's a
reminder that life can be great. Allison fits my "Heart of Gold"
category. See if you don't agree.

This is my friend Gaz. He's a great guy
with whom I share my sense of humor. Gaz has a way of mixing in fun and
insight, and his Journal is never a bore. Some day, I'm going to get
across the Ocean, and when I do, I'm going to sit down with Gaz and
Company and eat a very large meal, and then let the laughs begin. He's
a funny guy with a big, big heart. I think you'll like him, if you
haven't already had the pleasure. Gaz fits my "Someone I Want To Hang
Out With" category.

And last, but definitely not least, a
non-AOL blog that is written by someone who started out in J-Land a few
years back:

This is the journal of my good friend
Jamie. She adds a little mix of the "Slice of Life" variety from the
home front. She has adorable kids, a great husband and a busy life. She
also brings to the table a deep religious faith, and an insight into
life that is beyond the scope of a "plug" on the Editor's Choice list.
You really need to read this Lady; she is my "Real Life That Is
Beautifully Written"
category.

Now this could go on all day, but the
Journals editor might have to smack me one if I keep going on. There
are a lot more journals that I love and enjoy, but some are Private,
and others just don't update as often as they used to. It was hard to
choose, but if someday they let me add the approximately 75 journals
that I have in my favorites, I'll be sure to be
back.

I hope you enjoy meeting some of these
folks if you haven't already.

Congratulations on being Guest editor and on doing a fine job.It is terribly hard to pick out a few and it leaves you feeling bad that so many great ones were left out.
but you explained it well that you'd pick all if you could.

I have asked a friend to do this, but I would humbly ask the journals editor for help also. Please can you direct people to my blog as I want to alert people to my sad news, but because alot of friends have turned off alerts over time, they may not get to read my last entry, please could you ask anyone who reads my blog to read my last entry,as I will be away for a while and alot of people have mailed me about recent events,I am sorry but I am truely not up to replying to them all, much as I would love to,but it is so very upsetting at the moment,if you get the time to read my last entry I would be most grateful,I am hoping that my thoughts written down may just help others,as is always my intention.Thank you, zoe.
