Friday Blogplugs

Hey folks,

I hope everyone had
a safe holiday and spent time with family (and friends). I
visited my relatives in New Jersey and have been intermittently getting
work done, fighting a cold and snacking.

Before
I get into the blogplugs, we wanted to share our condolences for two
very special Journalers who passed away this month. Kim fought Breast
Cancer and blogged at "I shaved my legs for this?," passed away on December 26, 2007. Lahoma, who struggled with Myeloid Leukemia, blogged at "Lahoma's Laments,"
passed away on Christmas. Our hearts are with their family and friends
-- please feel welcome to stop by their Journals and share your
condolences.

* Sugar reminds us that Kwanza kicked off on the 26th which is focuses on life, unity and culture.

* Jimmy shared a parody of the "Twas the Night Before Christmas" poem.

* Dana posted an inspiring video for our military members who couldn't be home during the holidays.
---

Thanks folks for the Friday Blogplugs. Just wanted to let you know that a lot of us will be out of the office until after the New Year ... so hang tight. If you'd like, send your Guest Editor submissions to JournalsEditor@aol.com and we'll review them for next week.

Have a exceptionally safe and enjoyable weekend. See you next year. ;-)

~ Joseph

Thanks for remembering those that went ahead this week, Joseph.
Also thanks to AOL Journals for dealing with a rogue element, that has now been shown the door.

Thank you so much for mentioning those that meant so much to us!

So what is with AOL kicking John to the curb? When will you be next?

Thanks for mentioning those who passed on.  They meant a lot to us, and will be missed, although they do live on.  We must find an end to this thing called cancer.

First, may those two dear ladies rest in peace and may G-d comfort those left to mourn. My husband and I fought this battle; he came home from his first tour of Iraq with cancer. We were married right after he finished chemo. We will keep those left to mourn in our prayers.

Second, it is nice to learn alittle about the people behind the scenes. May each of you have a wonderful New Year.

thanks for the mention of dearly beloved...  it's so sad.

On another note...  we have two different tags for blog plugs....   Joe had it as blogplug now we have an 's' on the end.  I'd done a few with the original tag but they didn't get picked up here.....   oh well... I did edit.. but you may want to check both going forward.....  thanks!

on aol 9.1     we have talked with tech support three times they always hang up before the thing is finished. We were told by one they have had nothing but problems with the new 9.1. Every time we try to download it . the program says it is being canceled and never finishes. We can not get on aol on our computer. It is very frustrating if we cant use it. You helped before and I was wondering if you can fix this problem also. It says sm master.idx needs to be restored. We have deleted used safe mode and done several tries even tried to install the old aol and now it wont work. HELP PLEASE it gets old dial aol going thru the prompts and never having a tech stay on till its finished. Our case number is....... 1521543.

Just found this Magic Smoke. Maybe it will be a good way to meet fellow bloggers. My Blog is mainly photography based with editorial to accompany it. I am a teacher/swim coach/photographer from South East England. http://journals.aol.co.uk/pbaldrey/PetesPlace

Hi!  Hope you all are having a great holiday season!
Just want you to know that alerts are working very sporadically.  I know of several who have sent out entries, and I never received them.  Thanks very much for looking into this matter. :)

Only a few hours more, and this year too will come to an end and pass into history. I too finish the year and await the new dawn of joy. I go down on my knees before my God and, recalling His kindnesses to me this year, I humble myself in the dust and thank Him with all my heart. - Blessed Pope John XXIII (1881-1963)

If you're doing blogplugs today, I have posted the link to Kimberleigh's online obituary guestbook.  She wrote a journal I Shave My Legs For This and passed away on 12/26.
