This meme's been bobbing around the Web for a year or so, and it finally hit BoingBoing this week -- which is where I heard about it.
Much like the O RLY thing, it's pretty simple: just text on a photo follwing a standard format: The photo is a wacky shot of a cat, and the text is usually (but not always) "Im in/on yr (noun), (verbing) yr (noun)." It's supposed to be spelt in l33t-speak, you're not reading it wrong.
Explaining a meme or any joke always kills it, though -- and something tells me that high-level promotion at the world's biggest media company will do to this what hitting the top 40 did to the Chili Peppers.
Here's a few hilarious examples of the thing, all of which I
A) discovered via BoingBoing and
B) still e-mail to my friends:
Shadowdane.Shackspace
Knitemare.org
for some reason, the Ridemonkey.com forums
Minor content warning there for the more sensitive among you. You should know who you are by now. I've made two samples myself -- bilingually, no less:
Recognize that top one? That's Scalzi's cat from his infamous bacon-taping post.
This is really, really fun, and I don't even LIKE cats -- you guys want to try?
Let's give it a shot. You can do it a few different ways -- the more adventurous among you can shoot and title your own cat photos. Or, just post a cat photo on your blog for other folks to grab and re-title. Leave links to your creations -- or ones that you find -- in my comments, and I'll post a roundup later in the week.

What the f***? That whole entry was like reading Greek.
Remember... and it took us awhile to steer Joe to the fact that most of us don't speak Tech. We generally know enough to find porn and watch music videos.
You need to find a balance between getting the stuff across you want to get across, and doing so in such a manner that a slobbering moron could replicate whatever you do.
It's a tough gig, and I'm glad I don't have it.
I'm in ur blogzorz, leaving teh commentz!!!one

It's not just cats. <a href="http://thette.livejournal.com/336388.html">I did one with a baby picture.</a> I also have an icon with "Im in ur foo barring ur baz" for the real geeks out there.
Jeff, my Journal page is in a shambles this morning, 11/15/06.
It will probably show up looking o.k. when you view it, but when I go to my page/Journal it is a disaster. If I could edit I might be able to fix it, but I can't even edit.I hope, hope, hope that you can help me.
Thanks, DAD of Dad's Tomato Garden Journal.
Jeff, once upon a time I was able to add a youtube video to my journal. Now I can't seem to get anything embedded. I even went back and used your 'updated' instructions but I can't get it to work. Any suggestions?
dornbrau -- I was just able to embed a YouTube video with no problems into a test journal. All I did was copy all the "embed" code from YouTube and paste it into the HTML view of a new entry. Make sure you're in HTML view -- that one gets me every time. (posted and mailed)
I tried again with a different video and it worked just fine. For some reason I just couldn't get any of the KOZO ones to load... weird. Anyhow, thanks again, I appreciate the help. Dorn
When I was in the hospital, I got one from my friend.... "I'm in yur howse, stealin' yo silverware."
