Magic Smoke Poll: Font Size for Entries?

Hi folks -- here's a quick poll -- ever since I started this blog, I've
stayed with the AOL Journals default font for my
entries.

So, the
poll question is simply this: Should I change the font I use
in my Journal entries?
(I'm thinking about font size,
primarily -- if you tell me to switch to Comic Sans MS, I will have to override
you on that):

As I was preparing this entry, I figured I would
investigate changing the default font size for the AOL in-client Web
browser (which is just a version of Microsoft Internet Explorer),
though I will do that in a follow-up entry I have lined up for
tomorrow.

( If you don't want to wait, I will
basically be expanding on this
AOL Help entry
).

Thanks --
Joe

I voted for bigger, but don't go nuts and make it huge. That drives me crazy....Tawnya

Does that mean that the problems with using 12 pt. font might get fixed???  :)  It is a pain to have to keep going into the HTML and adding "size=3" to the beginning of each paragraph.

Any chance that AOL might offer us more font choices in the future?  (I kind of like Trebuchet MS myself).

Thanks, Joe!

Sorry Joe...what I should have said was "size=3" to the HTML font code at the beginning of each paragraph.  My head knew what it wanted to say but my fingers were rebelling!

Personally I like size 14.  Might would like 12 but can't get it to work.
I think 14 is an easy size to read.

Joe,
I find the journals default font and size to be the smallest font I would be comfortable reading. It is right on the line of being too small. I use 10pt. Arial in AWV, but find the readability of Arial to be somewhat questionable (not due to font size, rather letter and line spacing). I don't change it because I dislike the other options offered by the journals software. I would be very pleased were the font options expanded in a future software release.
Yes, I know I can compose in a text document, and copy and paste over, and the html font selection will be preserved. Just don't feel like doing it that way.

So does this mean there is a chance they are fixing the size 12 font??  I use Comic Sans MS.  LOL  I like you the way you are.  I use the size you do, although I get some people hollering at me to do larger type.  I guess you do, too.  Have a good day, Joe!  Val

Whats wrong with Comic Sans MS?!? Huh? HUH?!! Thats what I thought. LOL J/K But no really, whats wrong with Comic Sans MS?

Your font is on the small side. I have no trouble reading it but I'm 23. I agree with the commentor who said the biggest problem they see is the jumpy blogging. It is hard to keep up for new comers.

Oh and I would love to see the 12 size work and more font options.

So why does AOL block emails from churches to their members who have AOL?
Why has nothing been done when AOL has been contacted over 20 times about this?
And yes, you should use a bigger font.

Don't care what you use in your entries, LOL, but please ask AOL to fix font size 12 in our journals.  Thank you very much! :)

I don't know, Joe.  I think you should do like some of the cool kids on MySpace and other parts of teh internets and use a hot pink background with bold, 28pt. lime-green colored font just to fry our retinas.  I mean, twenty minutes after signing off, all I need to do is close my eyes, and I can STILL see the page.

Hi Riverdaughter196 -- sorry to hear that your church is having problems sending mails to AOL members. I'm sure they're not being blocked purposefully; it's a side-effect of the AOL mail folks's war on spam.

The AOL postmaster team is usually pretty responsive, so your previous requests may not have made it to the right folks. I suggest that your church's e-mailers check out the AOL Postmaster Web site, with resources at http://postmaster.info.aol.com/selfhelp/index.html

There is also contact information at http://postmaster.info.aol.com/contact/

Thanks -- Joe (posted & mailed)

Rhianna -- There's nothing "wrong" with Comic Sans MS -- I just prefer simple fonts. It's just a matter of tastes, and Comic Sans isn't "serious" enough for mine. (I mean, just look at the name -- Comic Sans.) Thanks -- Joe (posted & mailed)
